Lancaster, CA.(Febuary 4, 2023)– Scripture admonishes to be watchful, diligent, and be driven by compassion. The Reason Group a community based ‘Not for Profit "501(c)(3)’ headquartered in Lancaster, CA., exemplifies and believes that in every iteration, this Scripture applies to their work. Here is the sad reality. Although some lives are lush, it is not so for everyone. Thus, they dwell among us as strangers, their purposes are unknown. 

These are people in need, the unemployed in Los Angeles and Orange County, homeless, or who are trapped in an economic cycle morass because they are low skilled, or due to having blighted records due to stints in the system. Their existence is survival mode because they need to expunge their criminal records. Moreover, the lack of computer skills job training hinders their forward progress. An obvious question is how the non-profit Group makes a lasting difference in a person's life. The founder, and motivator, agency director Malik Reason believes in consistent work as the prime building block to establishing a fruitful community. “Sustainable employment leads to successful families which lead to successful communities,” he offers. “This is foundational to a better city and ripples to a better nation.” 

The Reason Group has developed and operates a “The Job Readiness Expungement Project” (JREP) along with a complete vocational skill training program to help the participants increase their employability. In doing so, the Group facilitates removing barriers to consistent, reliable employment. JREP services are not just for former offenders, but all those who want to increase their chances of becoming employable.

The training methods are proven effective at increasing participants’ job retention rates and wage earnings, as well as addressing issues facing those clients who need reentry services. Reentry services are aimed at reducing recidivism among former offenders. The Group considers (JREP) part of its mission in community building, or one of its Four Pillars of personal success. Hundreds have been helped and has been life changing.

Clearly, the Reason Group has a modern job training center that teaches employment skills client’s may be lacking. Undeniably, this places each client in position to accept viable job opportunities. Malik Reason adds, “Our Four Pillars concept beginning with a detailed, earnest study of our ways to address key barriers to employment of the residents of the Antelope Valley region of Los Angeles County, and East Kern and Orange County.” Another logical progression from building a foundation: “It is a formula that allows TRG to provide qualitative services for those in an identified income category. We have addressed competitive job training, issues of unemployment, and the needs of people in Los Angeles County.” 

Being of service the Director Reason adds, “We have helped hundreds to weather frustration and have forged solutions not only for the underemployment but starved off homelessness.

ABOUT MALIK REASON of THE REASON GROUP

Mr. Reason is an alumnus of Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR.  has spent the last 27 years being an advocate and mentor to the unemployed members of his community. As Senior Job Development Specialist for the County of Los Angeles, he has helped countless participants in the County’s welfare to work programs gain viable employment. His valuable experience has helped many participants change their lives by moving from subsidy to self – sufficiency. 

Malik received his post graduate legal training at Kaplan University and later at Florida International University. Malik is an aggressive, zealous advocate for his clients; however, with caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith are the core values that he has instilled in all at The Reason Group, those are the values that guide them.
